The song in question is actually about a 'rich boy' but Daryl Hall didn't think that sounded right so he swapped the sexes. The guy in question was Victor Walker who was then the ex-boyfriend of Hall's then girlfriend Sara Allen. Victor was all too happy to party with his dad's money and it eventually caught up to him. Walker showed up at Hall’s door one day, burned out from all that living in excess and Hall penned the lyrics giving birth to a number one hit song.
